Zap

My Artis name is Zap. I chose this name because I have a lot of energy, (usually restricted to between the hours of 9.00 and 5.00) and Zap is an energetic word. The zzzz sound is quite reflective in Zap though, and I also like to chill out at times. In addition, I love comic books, and the word Zap often occurs in them. My principal specialism is music and in particular the violin, but I also play the other instruments in the violin family, piano and bass guitar, and the African djembe drum. Before working for Artis, I taught music and drama at secondary level, and I have been a regular attendee at dance classes of various types for a number of years. History has taught us that over many thousands of years, the performing and visual arts have been at the core of every culture, indicating that creativity is instinctive to humans. With this in mind, I believe that every child has the desire and the right to be creative. I love developing and nurturing creativity in children. After all, wouldn't life be dull if we weren't allowed to be creative?
